Women’s Peace Humanitarian Fund Project Advocacy Visits to stakeholders.

The Women’s Peace Humanitarian Fund Project (WPHF) sponsored by the United Nations (UN) and implemented by Scripture Union West Africa (SUWA) in Taraba and Cross River States officially commenced in April 2022 when the project team visited some stakeholders in Taraba and Cross River States to intimate them of the WPHF project taking place in some designated communities and IDP camps in the states. The project which is designed basically for women and girls of these communities, is aimed at reducing violence against women and girls, increasing women and girls participation in politics, decision making, increase their financial strengths through Income Generating Activities, improve their health and peaceful coexistence in their various communities. The project team also made them understand the benefits the people of these communities stand to enjoy when the project is implemented.The Team asked that the people of the communities give the needed support to make the project a successful one. Some of the stakeholders visited include, The Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Local Government Authorities, host community leaders, security personnel, traditional and religious leaders among others.
